Last year we planted this Curly Willow as a gift from an old and great friend. Dubbed "The Memory Tree", in remembrance of those we have lost, it is the focal point of the furthest corner of our garden where quiet, timeouts and meditation are the order of the day.
Small, but with promise, it grew well until the hail storm of July, 2008 stripped it of every leaf. It made a small comeback, but its second set of half-hearted leaves yellowed and fell in the fall.
Look what 2009 has brought ... "Curly" is going crazy! It has more than doubled in size. Maybe Mum has her hand in this?

Hi Mike,
Oh how I love the pics of yours and Mar's beautiful garden ... it's like opening a page in a magazine and if I had a garden that gorgeous I'd enter the pics in a contest!!!!!
I'm so happy the Memory Tree survived and doubled in growth and I know for sure your Mum has her hand in that; she loves that tree and it's her way of saying I'm happy to help you in your garden. She was such a lovely, gracious lady.
Keep up the wonderful work so I can see even more pics.
I'll be back soon.
Tally ho,
Brit
